Coyhaique - XI Aysén - Chile
Haus V presents itself as a variation on Haus IV. Through strategic, but modest, changes in the internal distribution of the first floor, it was possible to achieve a better layout – specially in the intimate area. Thus, the access terrace is transformed into a more protected and sheltered space. While building the house, the need arose for a home office to be added, which takes shape from the natural extension of the covered parking volume. The contrast between industrial (the metals, the polished concrete) and traditional (the local wood) materials is kept, but the colors are toned down, achieving a more serene image. Taking care of these differences creates a feeling of familiarity between both houses, while simultaneously guaranteeing each one its own personality.
