Coyhaique - XI Aysén - Chile
A young family wanted a house I which to grow, entertain and enjoy each other’s company, with space for both kids and grown-ups. A simple, low-maintenance house, but also warm and with plenty of light. Inside, the kitchen and the family room are the main spaces. The biggest challenge was the solar orientation. The site has superb views to the south, so sunlight and landscape do not go hand in hand. Thus we opened big south-facing windows, to frame the views, and introduced northern sunlight through a zenithal solution from the upstairs family room.
